• Milgram's experiment on obedience began in July 1961, three months after the beginning of Adolf Eichmann's trial. Adolf Eichmann was a German Nazi war criminal, and Milgram's study was going to be used to answer his question if whether Eichmann and his accomplices had a sense of morality. Milgram's experimental results would suggest that they were just following orders, even if it was against their moral beliefs.
